Student Parliament
The German Nicaraguan School encourages the democratic participation of the student population. For this purpose, starting in 5th grade, each group elects a representative and an alternate to collect their concerns, questions and needs, whether academic or related to infrastructure.
Representatives
From the representatives and alternates of each group, a president and a vice-president are elected for the whole school, who are in charge of collecting the consultations and concerns of each group, and they send them to the academic direction. The president and vice-president call meetings by evaluation cut, where each representative and alternate of each section, brings the concerns of their groups. Then they meet with the academic director to share the results of the meeting and think of possible solutions. At the first meeting of the year, the students elect a teacher they trust, who acts as a mediator in case the students want to consult with the director or organize a meeting or an activity such as a parliament. Among the activities that the parliament can promote, we have fairs, kermes, raffles.
